When I design for Stay Kind, I try to make pieces that feel like me - my values, my intentions. I want to reach someone who needs to hear my message. I want the world to know that someone cares.
When my business was just stickers, I ran it in my bedroom. Each sticker was printed, cut out, and packaged by me. I taped on each shipping label. I handwrote every thank you card. It wasn't efficient, but that was never the point. The point is that someone, somewhere, may have opened my package and felt seen - even for a second! And if that is true, then it’s all worth it.
Kindness isn’t flashy. It’s not trendy. It doesn’t always get noticed. But it does something. It touches you, the people around you, and the small corner of the world you get to experience.
Kindness saves people. It saved me.
A few things I come back to, in case any of them can help you too:
-
Compliment out loud - if you think something kind, say it!
-
Handwrite notes whenever you can.
-
Remember the little things: favorite songs, dogs' birthdays, the things people mention in passing.
-
Self-care - it’s impossible to share your kindness when you have none for yourself.
Thank you for being part of it.
